What is the Durable Medical Equipment Lending Closet?

It is a program that will be housed and ran by Hospice Services of Lake County where individuals can rent medical equipment vs having to buy. Getting a prescription to purchase or rent DME may take weeks to acquire. This project will serve as a bridge for individuals experiencing these situations and more.  Rotary Club of Kelseyville and the Rotary Club of Lakeport are making this dream project a reality for our community.

Heroes of Health & Safety Fair – 2023

The Rotary Club of Lakeport has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to the community by generously providing funds for the Heroes of Health and Safety Fair. This thoughtful contribution will enable the organizers to purchase bicycles that will be gifted to children attending the event. Maui Fire Relief Fundraiser – 2023

Rotary Club of Lakeport’s Maui Fire Fundraising Event Raises Over $3,500

The Rotary Club of Lakeport is thrilled to announce the remarkable success of its recent fundraising event, held on Wednesday, August 24, at the enchanting Wine in the Willows in downtown Lakeport. The event not only brought the community together in a spirit of camaraderie but also raised over $3,500 in funds to support those affected by the devastating Maui Fire.

The Rotary Club of Lakeport extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who generously contributed to the Maui Fire Fund. This outpouring of support is a testament to the incredible unity and compassion of the Lakeport community. These funds will play a vital role in aiding the recovery and relief efforts for those affected by the fire’s impact.

A significant highlight of the event was the silent auction, where an array of unique items and experiences were generously donated by local businesses and individuals. Wine in the Willows prepared a sumptuous charcuterie board for the benefit’s guests to enjoy in addition to offering beverage sales. In addition to the generous contributions generated by the silent auction, Cinamon Vann, owner of the wine bar and community gathering place, contributed all tips plus 20% of the evening’s sales to the Maui Fire Fund. 

The Rotary Club of Lakeport looks forward to continuing its mission of service and giving back to the community. The success of this fundraising event further emphasizes the positive impact that collective efforts can achieve.

Clear Lake High School Senior Class Trip – 2023

Christmas Boxes – 2019

Community Benches

The Rotary Club of Lakeport has once again enhanced the quality of community life by providing welcoming benches at Westside Community Park. These benches, a symbol of unity and shared space, offer a place for residents and visitors alike to rest, reflect, and enjoy the natural beauty of the park. The Rotary Club’s dedication to creating comfortable and inviting spaces in the heart of Lakeport highlights their commitment to promoting social interaction, relaxation, and well-being for everyone. These benches will undoubtedly serve as a lasting testament to the Rotary Club’s ongoing efforts to make Lakeport a more vibrant and connected community, one bench at a time.

Tree Planting After Valley Fire – 2017

In the wake of the devastating Valley Fire of 2017, the Rotary Club of Lakeport emerged as a beacon of hope and resilience by spearheading a tree-planting initiative. Their dedicated efforts to replant trees not only symbolize nature’s ability to regenerate but also represent a powerful act of community healing and restoration. The Rotary Club’s commitment to this endeavor serves as a testament to their unwavering support for the local environment and their resilience in the face of adversity. These trees, now taking root in the scorched landscape, stand as a living testament to the strength and unity of Lake County, a reminder that from destruction, new growth and hope can emerge.

The Three Horses – 2017

The original idea of installing sculptures came when my wife and I (Bruce Maxwell) stopped at the Valle Travel Stop and Chevron in the crossroads community of Valle, AZ. I brought the idea to the Lakeport Rotary Club during my year as President (2017-2018). They immediately embraced the concept and the rest is history.

The welding to reinforce the sculpture was done by Chuck Hayden who works for Joe Szupello at AAMCO Transmission, Lakeport.

Credit for selecting the horses theme should be given to Julie Kelley of City Fitness.

The sculptures were purchased through Lou Ann Bauer of Bauer Interior Design, Kelseyville. I was unable to find a reference to the actual artist or company where they were purchased but they did come from El Paso, TX and were made by an artist in Mexico.

The wildflower seed mix was purchased from LeBallister’s Seeds in Santa Rosa. It will take two years for all the seeds to sprout. So this year the main flowers you see this year are the California Poppies.

The project was funded in part with a $2,750 grant from the Rotary District 5130.

Soper Reese Community Theatre Renovation – 2016

The Rotary Club of Lakeport has once again demonstrated its dedication to the cultural vibrancy of Lakeport by undertaking vital renovations and repairs at the Soper Reese Community Theater. Their commitment to this iconic community venue not only preserves its historical significance but also ensures that it continues to serve as a hub for artistic expression and community gatherings. The Rotary Club’s involvement underscores their belief in the transformative power of the arts and their unwavering support for the local arts scene. These renovations and repairs will undoubtedly enhance the theater’s functionality and aesthetic appeal, creating an even more welcoming space for the community to come together and enjoy the rich tapestry of performances that the Soper Reese Community Theater has to offer.

Hospice Memory Garden – 2014

The Rotary Club of Lakeport has showcased its profound commitment to compassion and support by creating a Memory Garden at Hospice Services of Lake County. This beautiful and contemplative space serves as a place of solace and remembrance, providing comfort to families and patients during challenging times. The Memory Garden, with its serene atmosphere and carefully tended flora, becomes a symbol of the enduring love and cherished memories that Hospice Services aim to honor. The Rotary Club’s dedication to establishing this meaningful garden is a testament to their belief in fostering a sense of peace and reflection within the community, particularly in moments of profound loss and grief. It stands as a touching reminder of their commitment to enhancing the quality of life in Lakeport, one garden at a time.

Westside Park Community Projects

The Rotary Club of Lakeport has been a pivotal part of the Westside Community Park in Lakeport. From their website:

ROTARY FIELDS I & II: This area is two plus acres of natural turf sports fields used primarily for youth and adult soccer. Also included are one-half acre of paved parking, a picnic area with two tables, the beginning of the Forbes Creek Trail with two exercise stations and a permanently installed porta-potty.

The Rotary Club purchased the irrigation supplies and the monument sign that identifies the fields. Fundraising purchased the trees and developed the picnic area. Sutter Lakeside Hospital purchased the exercise equipment which was installed by the Kiwanis Club of Lakeport. All of the fundraising, construction management and volunteers were lead and supervised by WCP. There were so many donations of time, materials, equipment and labor in those early days that we do not have a total project cost.
